Last chance: Cloud Bread” drive-in cinema for little bobby car drivers!

The 2025 drive-in cinema season in Flensburg has entered the home stretch. The final event will take place on Thursday, October 30, 2025 - a special picture book cinema entitled “Cloud Bread”. As presse-service.de reports, the event will be held in the lecture hall of the Flensburg City Library in the Flensburg Gallery, on the 2nd floor.

The picture book cinema is aimed at children aged 4 and over and takes place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Admission is free, but you should definitely register in advance. This can be done either in person in the library or by telephone at 0461/85-1816. During the event, the attentive little guests can whiz through the library in bobby cars before the picture book cinema starts. The story is about a rainy day and two siblings who collect a cloud. The poetic imagery promises a special experience for the children.

Cultural highlight for the little ones

The concept of the drive-in cinema at the Flensburg City Library has established itself as a real highlight this year. On six Thursdays during the summer holidays, little visitors were able to drive through the library in their bobby cars and experience a picture book cinema. flensburgjournal.de reports that a horn concert was desired during these events and was presented bilingually. The various titles that were presented to the children in twelve different languages were particularly exciting.

  • 31.07.2025: „Про принцесу, яка навчила свого батька плакати“ / „Von der Prinzessin, die ihren Vater das Heulen lehrte“ (ukrainisch/deutsch)
  • 07.08.2025: „Normans first day at Dino Day Care“ / „Normans erster Tag im Dinokindergarten“ (englisch/deutsch)
  • 14.08.2025: „Pan Zając i Pani Niedźwiedź“ / „Herr Hase und Frau Bär“ (polnisch/deutsch)
  • 21.08.2025: „Raznocvetnyi mir!“ / „Bunt“ (russisch/deutsch)
  • 28.08.2025: „Hayvanat Bahcesinde Hayalet“ / „Spuk im Zoo“ (türkisch/deutsch)
  • 04.09.2025: ﺏٍ ﻭﻥَ ﺣﺎُﺓَﻣﻭ / „Heule Eule“ (arabisch/deutsch)

Another exciting event was the bilingual drive-in cinema on October 21, 2024, where the story “Where is the toilet paper?” was presented in German and Ukrainian. Here, too, the children were first allowed to drive through the library in their bobby cars and then devote themselves to the picture book cinema. According to flensburg-szene.de, entry is always free, but prior registration is strongly recommended.

This has an additional advantage for the Flensburg City Library: From October 1, 2024, a digital offering with filmfriend will be introduced, which includes over 3,500 films, series episodes and documentaries. This makes the library an even more attractive destination for film enthusiasts of all ages.

So if you're looking forward to exciting books and stories with your little ones, you shouldn't miss October 30th - because things will definitely get hot again at “Wolkenbrot”!
