SG Flensburg-Handewitt: Big test match program for the 2025/26 season!

SG Flensburg-Handewitt has prepared for an exciting summer and is starting the 2025/26 season with full vigor. Coach Ales Pajovic has put together a varied preparation program that includes five test matches.

The kick-off will take place on August 1st in Copenhagen against HØJ Elite.This opponent has strengthened prominently with Hans Lindberg, Hampus Wanne and Till Klimpke. The SG then moves on to the region and plays against DHK Flensborg in Handewitt on August 6th. This meeting has a special occasion because the Wikinghalle is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

A week later, on August 8th, the Flensburg team will compete at the Jacob Cement Cup in Sønderborg. The opponent there will be SønderjyskE Håndbold before the team takes part in the HSG Premium Cup in Nordhorn on August 16th and 17th. In addition to the SG, the Füchse Berlin and FC Barcelona are also at the start, which makes for exciting encounters. The last test match before the start of the season is scheduled for August 22nd against Aalborg Håndbold in Denmark.

International flair and national successes

In the last few days, SG Flensburg-Handewitt has not only been active in its own preparation phase. Nine of their players played for their national teams. Germany was in remarkable form after the DHB team won twice against Portugal. On Thursday, the game in the campus hall attracted 4,546 spectators. Germany started strong, was already leading 14:8 and ended with a narrow 34:33 victory. Johannes Golla was able to impress with five goals and celebrated his debut in the DHB jersey at home.

On Saturday in Kiel, the German team temporarily led by seven goals, but had to accept a setback with a 0:6 negative run. Nevertheless, Germany ultimately won the game 35:31, with Golla again contributing five goals to the victory. The young player expressed regret about the short time between games and wished for more opportunities to interact with his teammates.
