The 22nd Helgoland Run will take place on Helgoland next Saturday, June 14, 2025. A total of 50 school teams will compete in an exciting relay marathon to determine the fastest school class. The event has become an integral part of the school calendar over the years and the anticipation is already palpable. The goal is clear: Who will be the fastest team on the attractive offshore island?

This competition is not only a sporting highlight, but also a wonderful opportunity to promote team spirit and community among students. The marathon is rounded off by the possibility that several teams from a school can compete at district level, but only one team per school can compete in the marathon.
The event on Helgoland
The route on Helgoland is around 5.3 kilometers long and has a lot to offer: it is demanding and features gradients and the notorious North Sea wind. Participants will arrive on June 13, 2025. A participation fee of 150 euros per team ensures that the event remains financially viable.
Reporting on the Heligoland Run is carried out by reporters from the Steinburg and Dithmarschen districts, the Stapelholm region as well as from the Eiderstedt peninsula and the offshore island of Heligoland. Fans can look forward to daily updates at 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m NDR 1 Wave North be broadcast.
