Youth ambassadors meet in Lübeck: Building bridges between cultures!

A strong network of young people
But who are these youth ambassadors actually? The Youth Ambassador joined forces in 2015 as part of the Youth Ambassador Training (YAT) to promote encounters and dialogues between Germany and Turkey. Esra Lukas, an active member, is passionate about improving German-Turkish relations. Since joining JuBo in 2020, it has aimed to strengthen exchanges between young people from both countries.
Such a commitment also brings with it fun. Aslihan, another youth ambassador, enjoys the opportunity to meet like-minded people and give back to the community. “Friendship is very important here,” she says. These values are an essential part of the club's work, which also promotes the exchange of motivated young people. Hale is one of the ambassadors who values the power of uniting individuals from different cultures and wants to learn more about cultures.
Diverse offers and workshops
News that underlines the diversity of the association are the planned initiatives for the mental health of refugees and culinary exchange projects with a chef from Turkey. The association also has a strong network made up of five board members and local groups in cities such as Ankara, Berlin, Istanbul and Stuttgart. The Youth Bridge has launched the comprehensive programs to strengthen young people's skills and improve cooperation.
The projects launched by the association are diverse. Workshops on art in public spaces and intersectional topics are also part of the program, as is the use of digital media to improve communication skills. The peer-to-peer approach has proven to be particularly successful.
The next issues of the Schleswig-Holstein Magazine not only promise exciting insights into local topics, but also offer a look at the important work being done in the area of intercultural exchange - an area in which the youth ambassadors set standards.
