Kiel Gourmet Festival: Cheese and wine in the boat harbor celebrate diversity!

From July 11th to 13th, 2025, cheese lovers and wine lovers alike will embark on a culinary journey of discovery in the Kiel boat harbor. At the Kiel gourmet festival “Cheese Meets Wine”, regional specialties meet exquisite wines from southern Germany. Kiel Marketing reports that the event promises a feast for the senses, with a variety of exhibitors, including wineries and cheese dairies from Schleswig-Holstein as well as local start-ups.

A highlight will be the presentation of the Solaris white wine from the Ingenhof winery in Schleswig-Holstein. In addition to this high-class wine, visitors can also experience a wide selection of regional products from the KäseStraße Schleswig-Holstein. These include, among other things, exquisite cheese specialties from cheese dairies that produce directly along this gourmet route.

A setting full of enjoyment

The ice cream specialties from the Trollebüller ice cream shop are particularly eye-catching and are perfect for the hot summer days. The event is organized by the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Agriculture, Kiel-Marketing and KäseStraße Schleswig-Holstein, which together ensure that visitors can enjoy an enormous variety of cheeses and wines.

There is also a stand with delicious delicacies under the motto “Tested Quality Schleswig-Holstein”, where EU-protected specialties such as Holsteiner Tilsiter and Katenschinken are offered. The cheese variations include cow, sheep and goat cheese and are a direct enjoyment from the region. The exhibitors include the Holtseer Landkäserei, Jahnkes Ziegenkäse and Meierhof Möllgaard.

Live music and more

A special extra will be daily live music, which creates a happy atmosphere. The culinary experience is rounded off by the chance to get hands-on and make cheese in workshops, which is planned for Saturday. Anyone who loves creative combinations will also get their money's worth: new cheese specialties made from water buffalo milk and delicious raclette variations are available.

In order to minimize the ecological footprint, the event uses reusable plates for serving food and glasses for serving wine. Vegan alternatives and organic beer are also offered, so there is something for every preference. The combination of regional culinary delights and musical entertainment makes the festival a must-attend event for everyone who loves northern German food culture. Further information is available at Kiel life retrieved.

The press event for the event will take place on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Kiel boat harbor. Among others, Ute Volquardsen from the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Agriculture and Uwe Wanger from Kiel-Marketing will be on site to discuss the special features of the event. So it's worth stopping by to get a taste of the fun that awaits us in July! For more details on program items and bookings, see the website Nordic food culture a useful contact point.
