THW Kiel remains on the road to success! On September 3, 2025, the Zebras celebrated their second victory in the handball Bundesliga and defeated HSG Wetzlar 34:30. This means that coach Filip Jicha's team remains undefeated this season and shows that they are in top form. An excellent start to the game and a strong second third were crucial to the success.

In front of almost 10,000 enthusiastic spectators in the Sparkasse Arena, the Kiel team showed a rather inconsistent performance in the first half. Although they started with a lead of 8:5, Wetzlar was able to equalize to 14:14 just a short time later. Thuringia went into the half-time break with a narrow 16:15 lead, which promised an exciting second half. Finally, the Kiel team managed an impressive 7-0 run, which set the stage for victory.

Strong performance by the zebras

In the second section, the Kiel team left no doubt as to who had the upper hand in this duel. The convincing play of Elias Ellefsen á Skipagøtu helped, who not only shone with a fantastic goal to make it 19:18 in the 36th minute, but also set decisive accents as a playmaker. HSG Wetzlar played without some regular players and did everything they could to keep the game open.
