On Saturday, July 5, 2025, the Lübeck-Vorwerk Volunteer Fire Department's fire department will be transformed into a colorful meeting place for the whole family. From 12:00 p.m., visitors can expect a varied program that has something for everyone. The event promises not only exciting vehicle exhibitions, but also an extensive supporting program with popular attractions such as a bouncy castle and a fascinating water wall. The little guests can also experience exciting grease fire explosions and have fun on tours with the fire engine. This celebration is a great opportunity to get to know the work of the fire department up close, as there will also be several exhibitions in the station to discover. A celebration without good food? That would be hardly conceivable! Visitors can look forward to a delicious selection of dishes, including grilled delicacies, hearty snacks from the deep fryer and tempting crepes. Coffee and cake are also on offer for those with sweet cravings. A drinks trolley ensures that no one is left high and dry. The music and dance season opens at 7 p.m., crowning the day with a happy ending.

The fire department in the heart of the community

The Lübeck-Vorwerk volunteer fire department looks back on a long tradition that began on November 5, 1909, and has been an integral part of the community ever since. The comrades practice regularly - every two weeks on Fridays - in order to be well prepared for an emergency. The youth fire brigade service in particular, which takes place on Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for children and young people aged 10 and over, promotes solidarity and offers young people the opportunity to learn valuable skills. The integration campaign of the German Youth Fire Brigade is also being implemented under the motto “Our world is colorful”, which aims to promote more diversity in the ranks of the youth fire departments in order to attract more young people Youth Fire Department.

In the last few months, the fire department has mastered numerous exercises and operations. This includes topics such as first aid and technical assistance in traffic accidents. At the annual general meeting in January 2025, not only were new comrades accepted, but honors were also given for many years of service - a sign of solidarity and commitment to the community. New Year's Eve also proved to be intense, with four missions during New Year's Eve readiness.
