Seven towers SUP-Race: Experience the adventure in Lübeck!

An exciting event is just around the corner: On Saturday, July 19, 2025, the first seven towers SUP Race, also known as 7TSup, will take place. The event will be held as part of the Travemünder Week, which takes place in Lübeck from July 18 to 27. The venue, The Newport Restaurant & Marina in Willy-Brandt-Allee 31a, offers the perfect backdrop directly in front of the historic old town with the famous seven towers.

The SUP Race is aimed at all water-loving, from professionals to recreational athletes. In this competition, the participants can choose between two track lengths: a 4.5 km long circuit for leisure paddlers and a 9 km long route for ambitious athletes. The latter has it all because the participants have to complete the course twice. A highlight is the € 2,000 total price money, with the winner of the long-distance race going home with € 500. The participants of the Fun Explore round also have the chance of a great win: a raffle for a Finnlines "mini cruise".

The route leads the paddling athletes past Lübeck's landmarks such as the music and congress hall, the Holstentor, the Obertrave and the Stadtgraben. The participants look forward to exciting competitions and a lively backdrop. The entry fee for adults is € 39, while under 18 year olds can participate for only € 20. Late registrations are possible for a fee on the day of the event. A barbecue on the deck of the marina from 7 p.m. is also included in the entry fee and ensures a sociable end of the day.

organizer Ralf Schulte, owner of The Newport Marina, has teamed up with a dedicated team to realize this event. The whole thing is supported by the SUP Sport Club Lübeck Bay and the organization team of the Travemünder Week, which is also responsible for security and sporting process. In total, the organizers expect 59 top athletes and 20 recreational athletes, including prominent international SUP athletes such as the world champion Susanne Lier.

In addition to the exciting competitions, a varied supporting program is also offered. Interested paddlers can look forward to workshops in which you can learn new tips and tricks about the stand-up paddling. There are also material tests in which the latest SUP boards can be put to the test. So every visitor will get their money's worth - whether as a participant or viewer.

The event starts from 3:00 p.m., while the race will start at 5:15 p.m. The best places for spectators are located on the bridges at the music and congress hall, on the Holstentor and along the Obertrave, so that everyone can experience the exciting atmosphere up close. It promises to become an unforgettable day in Lübeck's picturesque old town.
