From June 12th to 15th, 2025, the Holstenköste in Neumünster again becomes the cultural highlight of the year. Like NDR , around 200,000 visitors are streamed into the city to enjoy a colorful program from music, sport and entertainment. The opening is carried out by City President Anna-Katharina Schättiger (CDU) and Mayor Tobias Bergmann (SPD), which will be festive at the beginning.

The musical performances are one of the central attraction of the wooden coasts. On Thursday, the bands Beauty Skulls and Ugly Skulls are on the Fürsthof stage, while the Memphis Greasers can be experienced in the town hall inner courtyard. The Irish singer-songwriter Kieran Goss in the Gerisch-Sculpturenpark will follow on Friday and the Samba Feijoada has announced itself for the evening.

The varied program not only offers music. Sports activities should also not be missing. The 35th Holstenkösten-Stadtlauf starts on Friday, while on Saturday a traditional ice stock tournament and a children's program in the Rencks Park are waiting for the little guests. The end is a veteran journey on Sunday and a classic car rally that makes the hearts of car lovers beat faster. In addition, a flea market in downtown will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday - ideal for all bargain hunters.

A very special highlight is the job speed dating, which takes place in the Ferris wheel on Friday. From 8:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., job seekers have the opportunity to present themselves with 36 companies and maybe venture the next career step. So the small ferris wheel will not only be fun for children and nostalgics.

The city of Neumünster takes the security of the guests seriously and has invested an additional 40,000 euros in security measures. 65 heavy concrete barriers are also set up to ensure a smooth process. The city center is therefore closed for car traffic, which will apply from June 11th at 8 a.m. Anyone traveling by bike will find unguarded bicycle parking spaces on Plöner Strasse and corner of Brachenfeldstrasse. Free replacement parking spaces are available for the holder of a parking permit.

In addition, the weekly market moves to small spots on June 10th and 13th, but Saturday is eliminated due to the Holstenköste. In order to round off the celebrations, there is an interactive play entitled "Ghostkeller" on Sunday at 1 p.m. on the Holsten-Galerie stage.
