From June 12th to 15th, 2025, the Holstenköste in Neumünster will once again be the cultural highlight of the year. How NDR According to reports, around 200,000 visitors will flock to the city to enjoy a colorful program of music, sport and entertainment. The opening will be carried out by Mayor Anna-Katharina Schättiger (CDU) and Mayor Tobias Bergmann (SPD), which will be festive right from the start.
The musical performances are one of the central attractions of the Holstenköste. On Thursday, the bands Beauty Skulls and Ugly Skulls will be on the Fürsthof stage, while the Memphis Greasers will be performing in the town hall courtyard. On Friday there will be a performance by the Irish singer-songwriter Kieran Goss in the Gerisch Sculpture Park and the Samba Feijoada has been announced for the evening.
Diverse activities
However, the varied program does not just offer music. Sporting activities should also not be missed. The 35th Holstenköste city run starts on Friday, while on Saturday a traditional curling tournament and a children's program in Rencks Park await the little guests. The finale on Sunday is a veterans' drive and a vintage car rally that will make the hearts of car lovers beat faster. In addition, there will be a flea market in the city center on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. - ideal for all bargain hunters.
A very special highlight is the job speed dating that takes place on Friday in the Ferris wheel. From 8:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., job seekers have the opportunity to present themselves to 36 companies and perhaps take the next step in their career. The small Ferris wheel will not only be fun for children and nostalgic people.
Safety measures and traffic regulations
The city of Neumünster takes the safety of its guests seriously and has invested an additional 40,000 euros in security measures. 65 heavy concrete barriers will also be erected to ensure smooth operations. The city center will therefore be largely closed to car traffic, which will apply from June 11th at 8 a.m. If you arrive by bike, you will find unguarded bicycle parking spaces on Plöner Straße and the corner of Brachenfeldstraße. Free alternative parking spaces are available for holders of a parking permit.
In addition, the weekly market on Kleinflecken is moving to June 10th and 13th, but Saturday is canceled due to the Holstenköste. To properly round off the celebrations, there will be an interactive play entitled “Ghost Cellar” on Sunday at 1 p.m. on the Holsten Gallery stage.
