Creative crafts up close: weaving market in the Cloth + Technology Museum!
Neumünster is preparing for a very special event: on October 11th and 12th, 2025 Museum Cloth + Technology the weaver market takes place. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors can look forward to a colorful variety of handmade treasures.
The market is a real treasure trove for lovers of individual creations. The exhibitors present a wide range, ranging from silk and wool fabrics to high-quality linen and cotton fabrics. This year the creative minds will also be offering products made from leather, felt and paper. There will be a lot to discover among the around 30 exhibitors from Germany as well as the international guests from Sweden and Denmark. What is particularly exciting is that around a third of the exhibitors are new to the market.
Unique creations and craftsmanship
What can you buy at the Webermarkt? Everything your heart desires! From cushions and blankets to tablecloths and crocheted jewelry – everyone will find something suitable here. In addition, handcrafted bags and wallets made of leather are waiting for new owners. The exhibitors are selected by a jury of experts who evaluate the quality of craftsmanship and artistic signature. This guarantees that only the best pieces are on offer.
Another highlight are the exciting demonstrations. During the market, visitors can look over the shoulders of the craftsmen as they use spinning and weaving techniques. This interactivity creates a lively ambience and allows the craft to really be experienced. Because nothing beats the fascination that traditional techniques radiate.
Entrance and meals
The entry price is more than fair: adults pay 6 euros, while the visit is free for everyone under 18. The ticket is available for schoolchildren and students at a bargain price of 2 euros. To make the visit even more pleasant, the Museum Tuch + Technik Association provides culinary enjoyment with coffee and cake. Who needs an excuse to spend a nice day at the Webermarkt?
For anyone interested in the traditions of craftsmanship, this is the perfect event. The weavers' market not only brings the art of weaving into focus, but also reminds us of the deep-rooted craft traditions in Germany, for example in Ore Mountains has its origin. Handcrafted products have been created here since the 17th century and are sought after beyond the borders. This also becomes clear in Neumünster on the two days of the market when the artistic talents show off their skills.
Mark the date in your calendar and experience the diversity of craftsmanship up close – it will be worth it!
