Heat pumps in focus: specialist event in Neumünster on November 13th!

On November 13th, an exciting event entitled “Heat pumps and alternatives” will take place at the Vicelinviertel education center in Neumünster. Organized by Neumünster, the event is aimed at everyone who is interested in the possibilities and advantages of heat pumps. From 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., visitors can expect not only a wealth of information, but also the opportunity to speak to experts on site.

Particular attention is paid to topics such as the economic viability of heat pumps, empirical values in existing buildings and long-term savings in heat supply. The event will be organized by information stands Schleswig-Holstein consumer advice center, the Mittelholstein district crafts association, the Neumünster municipal utilities and GEF Ingenieur AG. A highlight are the specialist lectures that take place from 6:00 p.m.

Specialist lectures and discussion rounds

Experts will share their knowledge: Jörg Faltin from the Schleswig-Holstein consumer advice center talks about “How heat pumps work” and explains what types of heat pumps there are and what planning steps are necessary. Dr. Sylvie Drahorad from GEF Ingenieur AG provides information about possible combinations with heat pumps, while a speaker from the district craftsmen's association explains the practice from a craftsman's perspective. Ragna Mann from Stadtwerke Neumünster will also contribute his experience with heat pumps in existing buildings.

Following the lectures, a discussion session will be offered to answer questions from participants - a perfect opportunity to clarify individual concerns and find out about your own options.

Heat pumps at a glance

But what makes heat pumps so special? These innovative systems use heat from the earth, water or air and release this heat into your own four walls. They achieve an annual performance factor of at least 3.5, which means that they can generate a lot of heat with relatively little electrical energy. The consumer advice center highlights that there are different types of heat pumps: from brine-to-water to air-to-air heat pumps, each with its own advantages and disadvantages.

Groundwater heat pumps are particularly efficient, but they require significant investments and structural measures. For well-insulated houses with large heating surfaces, heat pumps are a worthwhile purchase, despite higher acquisition costs compared to fossil alternatives - government subsidies can cover up to 40% of the costs!

So it doesn't just apply to new buildings: heat pumps can also be used in old buildings as long as the thermal insulation is sufficient. Anyone who is thinking about switching to these environmentally friendly heating systems has come to the right place at the “Focus: Heat” event. Registration is required either by email to Mr. Göksen at klimaschutz@neumuenster.de or by telephone on 04321 942 2135.

Don't miss the chance to broaden your horizons and find out about the promising possibilities of heat pump technology!
