FC Eintracht Norderstedt brings Drinkuth back – a striker coup!

FC Eintracht Norderstedt has a new kicker in its ranks - Felix Drinkuth returns after a successful time at VfB Lübeck. The experienced striker signed with the regional league team last Friday and now wants to bring his qualities to the offensive department. The club are currently suffering due to injury problems in this position and have made a smart move by signing Drinkuth. As kicker.de reports, Norderstedt's sports director Frank Spitzer sees him as a high-quality option for the squad.

Felix Drinkuth, born on October 20, 1994 in Henstedt-Ulzburg, has already made a name for himself in the Regionalliga Nord. He scored an impressive 72 goals in 234 games, including 33 goals in 83 games for Norderstedt from 2016 to 2019. The 1.85 meter tall winger also has international experience, having played 80 third division games for various clubs in Germany. He most recently laced up his boots for VfB Lübeck, where he scored ten goals in the 2024/25 season. Only the injury concerns in the offensive line prompted him to switch back to the regional league.

Returning “like coming home”

The return to Norderstedt is more than just a change for Drinkuth; he feels “like coming home.” He knows his former club inside out and not only celebrated sporting successes during his time there, but also won the Hamburg Cup. It is these emotional bonds that motivate him to take the reins again at this point.

In addition to Drinkuth's return, Norderstedt also made an appointment at the sporting management level. Moritz Frahm was appointed as the team's new captain, which received a positive response from coach Elard Ostermann. He acknowledges Frahm's personality and his trusting relationship with the team. The deputies on the team council are the players Jonas Behounek, André Wallenborn, Philipp Koch, Dane Kummerfeld, Lukas Krüger and Lars Huxsohl.

Squad planning is in full swing

The reasons for Drinkuth's signing are the injury-related absences of players Manuel Brendel, Ohene Köhl and Artem Diachun. This situation has led Norderstedt to urgently look for a striker and it can be said that the decision to bring in Felix Drinkuth came at just the right moment. He not only brings a goal threat, but also valuable experience that could be crucial for the team.

FC Eintracht Norderstedt has thus taken important steps in squad planning and plans to tackle the coming challenges with a breath of fresh air and long-established forces. A close eye on friendlies and training sessions will show how the integration of Drinkuth affects the team.
