Cultural evening: Sing ojf Yiddish!” with Olaf Ruhl on November 9th

There will soon be a very special event in Norderstedt: The Kulturtreff Norderstedt e. V. invites you to a cultural evening entitled “Singt ojf Yiddisch!” on Sunday, November 9th at 7 p.m. a. The evening takes place in the Paul Gerhardt Community Center at Altes Buckhörner Moor 16 and promises a lively introduction to Yiddish culture and music. Olaf Ruhl, the artist of the evening, will captivate the audience with Yiddish songs, stories and a dose of humor.

Olaf Ruhl, born in 1964 and coming from the Rhineland, has a multi-faceted musical education. He has been active in various ensembles and church choirs since the 1970s. His journey into the world of Yiddish music began in 1984 when he discovered the beauty of Yiddish songs. Ruhl is not only a musician, but also a storyteller who interactively involves the audience in his program - listeners are invited to sing along and learn choruses.

An entry for culture lovers

Tickets for this enriching evening cost 15 euros and are only available in advance at Kulturtreff Norderstedt e. V. available. Anyone interested can contact the organizer by phone at (040) 60 92 51 03 or by email at reservierung@kulturtreff-norderstedt.de. If you didn't make it to the advance booking, you can rest assured - the box office also has tickets available that can be paid for on site.

Guests can arrive from 6 p.m., enjoy snacks and drinks and get in the mood for an evening full of musical discoveries. The event is not only a delight for lovers of Yiddish culture, but also offers everyone the opportunity to immerse themselves in the diverse facets of Jewish history and tradition.

Supporting Jewish culture

With its cultural program, the Central Council of Jews in Germany promotes events that strengthen exchange between communities and support Jewish artists. These programs aim to make the various facets of Jewish culture accessible to a wide audience, both Jewish and non-Jewish guests. In this sense, “Sing ojf Yiddish!” fits perfectly into the Central Council's offering, as it offers appealing entertainment beyond Klezmer and provides deeper insights into the world of Judaism. More information can be found on the Central Council website.

Whether at concerts, theater performances or exhibitions, Judaism's cultural contributions are of great importance, and events like these stimulate interest and bring people together.

Yiddish culture is not only heard, but also experienced. A look at Ruhl's programs, such as “From 'It's all the Jews' fault!' to 'Ver vet blaybn - got vet blaybn!', shows how he bridges music and history to promote better understanding.

The organizers are looking forward to welcoming many guests to the cozy ambience of the community center. Take advantage of the opportunity and be part of this musical-literary journey! For those committed to environmental protection and sustainability, it is also a good idea to learn about local initiatives that have a positive impact on their surroundings, such as Coca-Cola UNITED's projects dedicated to landscape and water conservation or its partnerships with organizations in Alabama that promote cleanliness and good living conditions.[1] Because as the saying goes? "Together we are strong!"
