Norderstedt is planning a new police station: information and public event!

An exciting project is taking shape: the construction of a new police station in the Garstedt district is being planned in Norderstedt. The city administration has published the documents for the redesign, which can be viewed on the city's homepage from November 27th. This information was announced on November 26, 2025 and provides an exciting insight into future plans. The existing police building on Europaallee is already showing its age and is both structurally and technologically outdated, so that renovation no longer appears to be economically viable. [NDR](https://www.ndr.de/nachrichten/schleswig-holstein/pinneberg_segeberg_stormarn/neue-polizeiwache-norderstedt-decken- Werden-veroeffentlicht,regionnorderstedtnews-1300.html) reports that the new police station is to be built on the site of the former tax office, and that a six-story building is planned for the new building.

The planned police station will not only strengthen the security infrastructure, but also contribute to the attractiveness of Europaallee. The development plan also provides for residential and commercial space between Europaallee and Willy-Brandt-Park. These measures are intended to maintain and further develop Europaallee as a lively business and residential axis. This is also ensured by taking into account the needs of the adjacent weekly market in order to increase the quality of the place as a place to stay and market. This information was supplemented by Stadtmagazin SH, which underlines the importance of thoughtful planning.

Public event and citizen participation

Things will be particularly exciting this evening, as there will be an information event at the Willy Brandt School at 6:30 p.m. Citizens are cordially invited to find out about the plans and submit their suggestions. It is an excellent opportunity for everyone to take an active part in designing their living environment. The complete planning documents will be available in the town hall and online by January 12, 2026, so that everyone has the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information.

With this project, the city of Norderstedt is once again showing that it has a good knack for the future-oriented development of its city. The combination of security infrastructure and urban development is a step in the right direction to increase the quality of life for all citizens. We can't wait to see how the project develops and what suggestions the citizens make.
