TURA Harksheide: New board team and big anniversary celebration!
The general meeting of TuRa Harksheide took place on June 12, 2025, at which many important decisions were made. The association's board team, which is now fully staffed again, was introduced. The meeting was led by the first chairwoman Andrea Mordhorst and began with a minute's silence for the deceased members of the association. This sign of solidarity underlines the appreciation that the association has for its long-standing members.
The highlights of the meeting also included honoring members who have remained loyal to the club over many years. Anniversaries were honored for 25, 30, 40 and even 50 years of membership in the club, which was recognized by the presentation of shopping vouchers and plants. This recognition certainly motivates many to continue to be actively involved in the club.
New concept for child protection
A central concern of TuRa Harksheide is the new club concept “Violence Prevention and Youth Protection”, which was presented by treasurer Jessika Dubitzky. This comprehensive 35-page concept, which was approved in May 2025, includes a risk analysis as well as measures for prevention and intervention in dealing with violence. Reference is also made to the code of honor and the requirement for a police certificate of good conduct. Such measures are part of a state program that is committed to combating violence, intolerance and xenophobia LSV Schleswig-Holstein reported.
By integrating such concepts, the association not only wants to create a safe environment for all members, but also make an active contribution to promoting tolerance and civil courage. TuRa Harksheide is also taking part in the “Sport against violence, intolerance and xenophobia” initiative, a laudable measure in this day and age.
Sporting successes and finances at a glance
The TuRa Harksheide not only looks back on a rich history that goes back to the founding of the Harksheider Sports Club on June 16, 1945, but also currently has a lot of sporting successes to show for it. The club's cheerleaders take part in world championships, the women's chess teams compete in the Bundesliga and the men's soccer teams play in the top league. The judoka also show strong performances in the state league. This shows that the club has successfully established itself in various sports fields.
With over 4,200 members, TuRa Harksheide is one of the ten largest sports clubs in Schleswig-Holstein, which is quite remarkable. Despite an economically challenging situation with a budget freeze by the city of Norderstedt, the club was able to achieve a positive financial result for 2024, which marks an upswing after a negative result in the previous year.
New board team and upcoming events
The elections in the general meeting brought some changes to the board. Jens Müller did not stand for election again, and Dr. Niklas Käming was newly elected as second chairman. Barbara Blach remains in office as secretary, while Philipp Genersch acts as the new assessor. Jens Kressin and Brigitte Schwarz were elected as the new auditors. The new board team, which has now been freshly appointed, will provide important impetus for the club's next steps.
All members and interested parties will soon have a reason to celebrate: The big sports festival to mark the 80th anniversary of TuRa Harksheide will take place on June 21, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. An even better occasion to celebrate the club's successes and commitment together!
We keep our fingers crossed for TuRa Harksheide for the challenges ahead and wish continued success in all sporting disciplines!
