Missing Kim-Lea B. from Kellinghusen: Police are asking for information!
A missing young woman has been causing a stir in Kellinghusen since Monday. Kim-Lea B., just 22 years old, has been wanted since the morning of December 1st. According to NDR, she left her apartment on Lindenstrasse around 11 a.m. and has since disappeared without a trace. The police have so far been unable to find any clues to her whereabouts.
The Kim-Lea B. we are looking for is around 1.60 meters tall, has a strong build and brown hair. When she disappeared, she was wearing a black and green jacket from “The North Face”. Sniffer dogs were even deployed on Tuesday, but they didn't provide any new information. According to current information, there is no risk of suicide, which strengthens the hope that the search will have a positive outcome.
Additionally missing person
However, it looks like the search in Kellinghusen is not limited to Kim-Lea. The police are not only looking for the 22-year-old, but also for 73-year-old Svitlana T., who left her apartment on Lehmbergstrasse at around 4 p.m. on the same day. Svitlana is about 1.68 meters tall, slim and has brown hair. She was probably wearing a black jacket and slippers, speaks only Russian and could be in a state of disorientation. The Itzehoer criminal police are accepting information about both missing people, which can be reached on 04821/6020 or via police call 110, as [SHZ](https://www.shz.de/lokales/kellinghusen/artikel/zwei-frauen-in-kellinghusen-vermisst-polizei-bittet-um- Notices-49597706) reports.
It is not the first case of its kind in the region. An 85-year-old woman from Kellinghusen went missing at the beginning of the year and could not be found despite extensive searches. These incidents highlight the challenges facing the police. Missing persons cases are serious matters and local authorities are often under pressure to provide quick results.
The role of the police and the actors
The Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) has developed a series of support systems and measures for this purpose. A person is considered missing if they inexplicably remain away from their whereabouts and a risk to life or limb is assumed, explains the BKA on its website [BKA](https://www.bka.de/DE/ UnserAufgabe/Ermittlungsunterstuetzung/BearbeitungVermisstenfaelle/arbeitungVermisstenfaelle.html). And so, when there is acute danger, large-scale search operations are launched, often involving the riot police and emergency services.
In Germany it feels like there are new reports of missing people every day, and many cases are quickly resolved. Statistics show that around 50 percent of missing person cases are solved within the first week. With the ability to access data on over 9,420 missing person cases recently recorded in INPOL, the police are trying to keep an overview.
At the moment the thoughts of the citizens of Kellinghusen are with the missing people. Let's all hope that Kim-Lea and Svitlana can return safely to their families soon. The police rely on information and hope for support from the public. Every clue can be crucial.
