Construction work on the A7: traffic jams and restrictions until October 31st!
From now on it will be tighter for drivers on the A7 in the direction of Flensburg. The construction work, which began on Friday, October 24th, is necessary to repair asphalt damage on the roadway. Again NDR reported, there is only one lane free between the Schnelsen-Nord and Henstedt-Ulzburg junctions. This restriction is expected to last until 5 a.m. on Friday, October 31st. Drivers should prepare for longer travel times, especially in the area around the traffic jam, which already caused significant delays yesterday.
The Quickborn entrance and exit in the Pinneberg district will remain closed until Monday morning, October 27th. Alternatively, the Hamburg-Schnelsen-Nord and Henstedt-Ulzburg junctions are available. Traffic situation.de informed that the Quickborn exit will be closed until Saturday, October 26th at 10:00 p.m. Drivers should therefore consider diversions in good time.
Current traffic reports
Further construction sites on the A7 are also planned for the coming days. On October 28th, one lane will be temporarily closed on several routes between Kassel and Hanover. Drivers also face a lane closure in the direction of Hamburg. These construction measures are already lacking in view of the traffic load, which experience shows is highest in the months of August, September and October.
Future outlook
Traffic on the A7 is considered the most important north-south connection in Germany and stretches an impressive 962 km from Handewitt to Füssen. Further expansion measures are already planned for the future in order to reduce the traffic load. But the existing construction sites also contribute to the constant traffic jams and delays on the A7. Mobility and patience are the order of the day for the next few days.
The forecasts of the NDR traffic page and other sources indicate that drivers will also be faced with a change between traffic jams and free lanes. Rumor has it that weather conditions may affect the work, which could affect how long the restrictions last. So stay alert and check the traffic situation regularly!
