Lantern parade: Santa Claus and the fire brigade create a festive atmosphere!
Last Saturday evening, lanterns lit up the streets in northern Germany, as the youth fire departments' annual lantern parades not only brought light but also joy to the hearts of the participants. In Pinneberg the event was organized by the local youth fire department, while in Lauenburg the young people walked under the pouring rain.
In Pinneberg, the highlight of the evening was Santa Claus. He appeared again and was saved in a spectacular way with a turntable ladder from the roof of the main fire station. The event was not only intended for the firefighters, but also for their families and friends. The parade was led by the Appen Fire Department's musical band, followed by the youth fire department, which created a festive atmosphere with torches. Participants enjoyed warm drinks, bratwurst and waffles after the parade provided by the fire department, which contributed to a social gathering. The fire department's emergency vehicles also ensured that the route was safe during the parade. Pinneberg fire department reports that...
A unique experience in Lauenburg
In Lauenburg, the lantern parade was also well attended, despite the rainy weather. The parade, which began at 6:30 p.m. in the courtyard of the K-Center, was led by fire chief Lars Heuer and the police. Equipped with torches, the young people marched through the streets, past the Askanierhaus, where a musical stop was made. The route led through Hülsenkamp, Oberjersdaler Straße, Reeperbahn and back to the fire station. A reception awaited the participants here with flashing fire engine lights and a hearty range of food, including sausages, fries as well as mulled wine and children's punch. The Lauenburg fire department emphasizes that...
The evening was a highlight, especially for the children: a shower of candy thrown from the turntable ladder made their faces smile. The positive atmosphere and the high number of visitors made the parade an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
Community and joy
Both lantern parades in Pinneberg and Lauenburg show how important such events are for the sense of community in our cities. Not only firefighters, but also families, neighbors and friends meet here to celebrate together and welcome the beginning of the Christmas season. Celebrations like this create connections and strengthen community - and that's a ray of hope that we all need.
