Cycled together for a good cause: 4,700 euros collected for helpers!
The 18th two-wheel tour of the DRK district association Mecklenburg Seenplatte e.V. took place along the beautiful Müritz last weekend. This traditional event, which takes place annually under the motto "Cycling together, helping together", attracted a total of 296 cyclists - including 22 children who wanted to spend the beautiful day in a convivial atmosphere. We-sind-mueritzer reports that the participants donated a voluntary sum as "mileage" at the start. So a considerable sum of 4,696 euros came together, which is now used for a good cause.The distribution of the funds shows where the hearts of the cyclists are going: 1,500 euros go to the Hanse Tour Sonnenschein support association, which helps cancer and chronically ill children, and another 1,500 euros are intended for a volunteer of the DRK, whose daughter suffers from a rare illness and requires a special vehicle. The remaining amount is used for the outpatient and inpatient hospice work by the DRK district association.

The commitment of the participants and the helper was remarkable. Around 40 volunteers supported the event, and the oldest cyclists, Friederike Diek (85) and Dieter Pinnow (87), mastered the entire route. Together not only was shown a thorough performance, but also a strong sign of solidarity.
Special supporters of the event included the Gaede & Lehmann tax office from Neustrelitz with a generous donation of 1,000 euros and the company Solmax from Rechlin, which contributed 250 euros. The Adam family (Müritz) also made their contribution with 100 euros. Such contributions make a big difference and show that not only the cyclists, but also supporters and sponsors have a big heart in the region.

The two-wheel tour is more than just a cycling. It offers great surprises, meals and a "saddle festival" that took place in the Waren Volksbad. The participants were able to fortify themselves with delicious dishes and be talked musically, which gave the whole event a festive touch. The DRK calls on all families, friends and acquaintances to take part in the upcoming event. Because the joy of cycling and commitment to a good cause go hand in hand.
