Colorful variety by the sea: Warnemünde celebrates the second festival!
In less than a month, Warnemünde becomes the scene of a colorful spectacle again: from July 25th to 27th, 2024, the second "Bunte Sea Festival" takes place. The organizer David Juhnke, together with a great group of friends and acquaintances from Warnemünde, has a lot of effort to set up the festival again. It all started in July 2023 with a first edition that was so successful that a sequel could only be the logical consequence. "The positive response has encouraged us to continue," explained Juhnke, who himself is rooted in the third generation in Warnemünde.
Especially for families and young people, this festival is a special highlight. Particularly exciting: This will be the first inclusive festival in Rostock. The Kurhausgarten, one of the most beautiful locations in the region, will serve as the center of the activities, because it is not just about fun, but also about each other and diversity. You can convince yourself of this when visiting all events.
a colorful program for everyone
of workshops in which painting, spraying and making are in the foreground, right up to sporting activities such as skate and longboard workshops, there is something for everyone. There are even yoga and meditation offers on the green area that are suitable for both adults and children. A special highlight is the "photo box", in which illustrations guarantee the best souvenir photos. Local clubs and NGOs, such as the Rostock goalball club and Sea Shepherd, will also be on site and present exciting offers.
The culinary delights should of course not be missing: Ice, sugar -free bagels and various sweets can be found. Musically, the Festival is accompanied by Leon Zeugen, who provides a happy atmosphere with handmade music. Admission is free, and while most activities are free, request donations to support the many offers.
a festival for the future
Another highlight of the festival is the opening ceremony on July 26th at 5 p.m. in the Wal beach bar, where films such as "weekly treads" and "Open Ocean" are shown. Juhnke has set itself the task of offering more than just entertainment with this festival: "It is about promoting inclusion and creating meeting points for the youth," said the committed organizer. For this reason, a crowdfunding campaign is also launched to secure funds for workshops, meals and accessibility.
The expectations for visitors are high. In good weather, between 1,500 and 3,000 guests could be expected who not only spend a few nice hours by the sea, but can also immerse themselves in the colorful world of cultural life. The "Bunte Sea Festival" should fit into the cultural events in Warnemünde, because after all, Juhnke has dreamed of a revitalization of the Kurhaus garden since the 1990s.
If you are looking for a varied and inclusive festival, then you should paint the days from July 25th to 27th, 2024 in the calendar. Not only the fun counts, but also the good thing that the festival brings with it. Be there and experience a colorful trip to the heart of Warnemünde with many others!
