Müden (Örtze), Deutschland - The 76th Heidschnuckenag in Müden (Örtze) is in full swing and moves hundreds of visitors to the district of Celle year after years. On July 10, 2025, the coveted title "Mister Müden" was awarded. This year, a Heidschnuckenbock from Wietze-Jeversen prevailed against 32 competitors and was named the winner with a weight of 89 kilograms. For the tenth time, the title went to a breeding stake by Detlef Fischer, a name that enjoys an excellent reputation in the Heidschnuckens scene. After the award ceremony, an auction followed, in which, among other things, around 20 sheep farmers from Switzerland came to auction the coveted bucks. The auction price for the winner's goat was 2,000 euros.
Heidschnucken: traditional sheep race
Heidschnucken are not only very popular with breeders, but also for conservationists. This traditional sheet breed from northern Germany is known for their frequency and adaptability to the local conditions.
