New organizer, old passion: Hardausee triathlon enthusiastic!
Uelzen, Deutschland - Next Sunday at 12 p.m. the starting signal for the 15th Hardausee triathlon is given. The competition is already fully booked, which shows the high enthusiasm for this event among athletes. The organization now takes over the triathlon department of TSV Suhlendorf, after Hartmut Kaiser from VfL Suderburg, who was instrumental in the event, withdrawn after 14 successful years. This heralds a new era for the triathlon in the region, such as
with around 175 participants, including 150 individual athletes and around 25 seasons, the popularity of this sport in Lower Saxony is again evident. The online registration was concluded early because the participant limit was reached. The new organizational team has implemented some fresh ideas, but retained many proven elements to maintain the timeless character of the triathlon. A particularly exciting aspect of this year's triathlon is the introduction of a relay competition for beginners and interested parties, which makes participation even more attractive. Nine seasons have registered to fight together for the best times. Before the competition, the participants can pick up their start documents from 9:15 a.m. on the beautiful bathing beach. Here, the audience can experience the action directly, because the start and the destination are in the kioskin crowd, which also spice up the atmosphere at the lake. The water temperature is currently 18 degrees, so that the framework conditions for the swimming and bike route are optimal. The transition zone is located on the large meadow on the Helddamm, in the immediate vicinity of the main street, which is used for the wheel discipline. Athletes are expected to travel from Cuxhaven to the south of Lower Saxony. Laura Rarek (born Buchhop) stands out among the participants. After two years of parental leave, she returns to her home triathlon. It will be exciting how it struggles against the strong competition, especially since two thirds of the athletes come from the Uelzen district. The Hardausee triathlon is one of the significant event highlights of the regional triathlon calendar, where around 30 triathlon, duathlon and swim & run championships take place every year, such as hdsports listed. Some athletes, like Gerald Sommer and Andreas Harloff, have already proven at previous events at the Hardausee that they belong on the podium. Sommer last took second place in his age group and convinced with a strong mileage, while Harloff can also hope for good placements.
