Course round of SG Todesfelde/Leezen: Last game before celebrating!

The handball players of SG Todesfelde/Leezen head for their last appearance in the promotion round with full motivation. After an exciting second leg against the SFN Vechta, which the team won 37:32, and a narrow defeat in the first leg (36:38) there was recently an impressive victory against Hannoversche SC with 39:21. Now the players have the chance on Sunday to complete the promotion round relay in first place if they have to compete against the HSC again at 4 p.m. Coach Henning Ammen emphasizes that serious use of this last game is essential, since the opponents with two key players who were missing in the first encounter can be expected more.

Not only the field causes excitement, it also bubbles behind the scenes. The HSC is experiencing personnel unrest and is planning a large change in the coming season, which makes the starting position more exciting. For the SG Todesfelde/Leezen, however, the last match day is only the start of a wet happy cabin party that is initiated after the game. In addition, the players can look forward to a Mallorca trip on June 26th-the perfect conclusion for an intensive season.

Personnel planning for the new season

With regard to the next season, there are already clear structures and decisions. Personnel planning is almost complete and the new additions promise fresh wind. Among other things, Lena-Marie Müller from VfL Stade, Marit Kaps from Preetzer TSV, Anna Beckmann from TuS Aumühle-Wohltorf, Zabiah Trost from the A-Juniors of SG Hamburg-Nord and Victoria Nigbur from HT Norderstedt. Tim Aldenhövel from Aumühle becomes sporting director, while Finn becomes Meiners Meiners new team coordinator. As a team manager, Dirk Grabowski takes on organizational tasks in order to prepare the team for the upcoming third division point round in which they will compete as SV Todesfelde.

A look at the league

The tension in handball also becomes clear with the 50th season of the Handball Bundesliga women who start with a new mode. From the 2024/25 season, the league will be reduced to twelve teams, which carries both risks and opportunities. Only the eight best teams in the main round qualify for the play-offs for the German championship. The four weakest teams have to go to the play-downs to determine the relegation. Critics see the reduction of teams as a risk, especially in relation to the permeability for second division teams. The new best-of-throat mode for the championship could also increase the burden on players, especially for clubs with international missions.

For the SG Todesfelde/Leezen, the focus is clear despite all these changes: Today, only the victory in the last promotion game counts. The pressure is high, but the anticipation for the cabin party and the upcoming adventure is huge. And who knows, maybe the team's journey continues with the promotion.
