First casino cup in Altenholz: Handball elite fights for victory!
The handball third division team TSV Altenholz brings a breath of fresh air to the north German handball landscape. On July 20, 2023, the first casino cup is on the program and promises exciting games and high-class encounters. Four third division clubs, including TSV Altenholz, VfL Fredenbeck, HSG Ostsee Neustadt/Grömitz and the promoted HG Hamburg Barmbek, will fight for the coveted victory. The U23 young teams of the THW Kiel and HSV Hamburg are placed, which will make the event a valuable experience, especially for young talents. The games are scheduled for the early Saturday morning, from 10:30 a.m.
"I am looking forward to the tournament and the challenge that it brings," says TSVA trainer Torge Greve. The group games are divided into two groups of three, whereby Altenholz will compete against HSV-U23 and VfL Fredenbeck. The grand finale of the two groups is scheduled for 4 p.m. This makes the casino cup a shop window for handball in the region that brings not only the players but also the fans.
cooperation with tradition
Another reason for the anticipation lies in the partnership between TSV Altenholz and THW Kiel junior talent Handball GmbH for many years. Since July 1, 2015, the two clubs have been working under the motto "Bigen forces" in a common GmbH for young talent. The goal is to make Kiel one of the first addresses in Germany for talent promotion in handball. The collaboration between the two clubs has not only intensified in terms of sport, but also economically.
"We clearly commit ourselves to the handball location of Kiel and do everything possible to promote young, talented handball players in the best possible way," explain the managing directors Sönke Bergemann and Matthias Fehrke. In the long term, these strategic measures should also serve to target the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga with the TSV Altenholz.
promotion of young talent at a high level
The importance of promoting young talent is also underlined by the nationwide activities of the German Handball Association (DHB). These support the regional associations in projects that range from action days in schools to high -quality competition offers. The large number of funding measures are tailored and varied depending on the federal state, so that individual talents can be promoted as best as possible.
As part of these programs, the focus is on athletic training, handball -specific content and the personal development of the players. For highly gifted talents there are even special top funding that go beyond the regular team training sessions. Initiatives such as the Dietmar Hopp Foundation with a total funding budget of 715 million euros show how seriously the promotion of handball is operated in Germany.
With the casino cup on July 20 and the strong basis through the existing cooperation, TSV Altenholz not only wants to strengthen the current player pool, but also consolidate the acceptance and enthusiasm for handball in the region. The view is directed forward and the anticipation is noticeable!
