178 students from Welfenallee celebrate their end!

A glamorous day for 178 final students of the high school on Welfenallee in Celle! On June 30, 2025, the farewell deserved was given to them in two festive ceremonies. The auditorium shone in the colorful shine of the motto "Popart", behind which a creative stage design by the teachers Antje Schiroky and Frederike Wasserberg stood. The light and sound technology AG under the direction of Matthias Urbons perfectly staged this motto with sophisticated lighting games.

The celebrations included the presentation of numerous degrees, including:

  • 27 departure certificates
  • 12 funding school degrees (learning focus)
  • 57 secondary school qualifications
  • 13 secondary degrees I (secondary school leaving certificate)
  • 54 secondary degrees I (secondary school leaving certificate)
  • 15 expanded secondary degrees I

creative performances and inspiring words

The celebration began with a musical start in class 5D, which under the direction of music teacher Elfrun Heeg presented a charming ukulele version of "Brother Jakob". An absolute highlight was the break dance performance of four talented students of the project by teacher Duc Dang. These performances provided enthusiasm and energy in the festively decorated auditorium.

The headmistress Melanie Zug in encouraged the graduates to keep their thirst for knowledge and break new ground. The parent council chairman Carsten Klein looked back on the years together, while the student representative team, consisting of Nura Genjo and Adem Guga, wished the graduate strength, self-confidence and happiness in the future. In a moving speech, Cornelia Liszkowski spoke from school pastoral care about peace, diversity and personal values.

perspectives for the future

Many of the graduates already have concrete plans: Some strive to obtain the extended conclusion or to switch to a vocational high school to tackle the Abitur. These ambitions are particularly gratifying, since in the past few years the school-leaving statistics in Germany, as in the data of the Cultural Ministers' Conference , are always the focus of the public discussion.

The prom in the historic “Stadtpalais” in Celle rounded off this significant day and offered a festive framework to celebrate the success. These events illustrate how important it is to share such beautiful moments with family and friends, even if the Covid 19 pandemic has made it difficult to find the framework of such solid earth in recent years, as it became clear from the experiences of other schools. The records of the OBS Celle I show that creative ideas can also arise under difficult conditions.

It remains to be hoped that the graduates will take the swing and enthusiasm they experienced during the celebrations in their future challenges. From now on it is time for them: stay curious and discover the world!
