Schleswig-Holstein faces an exciting turn of the times in rail traffic. The European Investment Bank (EIB) has provided the state an amount of 250 million euros, which will flow specifically to the purchase of 42 modern electric trains. The trains are not only comfortable, but also sustainable: the regional routes that are operated from December 2027 include promising traffic connections. This includes the connection to Tinglev in Denmark, whereby a change is necessary, since the Danish features are not compatible with the German system.

The country is expected to be able to implement savings between 70 and 110 million euros over a period of 30 years by buying a new train.
