Captain of the seas: Halunder Jet delights with record passengers!
The 2024 season of the popular catamaran “Halunder Jet” has come to a successful end, and the shipping company FRS Helgoline can look back on a positive result. How North24 reports, around 174,000 passengers have used the fast catamaran between Hamburg and Heligoland since the start of the season on March 27, 2023. That is around 3,000 more passengers than the year before. Managing director Tim Kunstmann is very satisfied with this stable demand and emphasizes that the daily departures from Hamburg, Cuxhaven and Brunsbüttel were well received.
The last trip of the year on Sunday was particularly enjoyable, with 200 passengers on board. 400 passengers were planned for the return trip from Heligoland. The season ended as it had begun: with a large number of enthusiastic travelers. Travel times vary depending on the departure point, but guests enjoy fast connections - just 3.5 hours from Hamburg, 120 minutes from Brunsbüttel and 70 minutes from Cuxhaven.
Expanded connections and new possibilities
The family of connections will grow even stronger in the coming year. The demand for new departures, especially from Brunsbüttel to Cuxhaven and Helgoland, is excellent, as Kunstmann explains. For the first time this season there were regular connections from Brunsbüttel, and next season these will be supplemented by a fourth departure day per week in the high season. This shows that the shipping company has a good knack for meeting the needs of passengers.
The response to the free parking facilities at the pier in Brunsbüttel was also positive. The combination of attractive prices and the fast connection makes the “Halunder Jet” a popular option for tourists and locals planning a day trip to Helgoland.
A look into the future
The next season begins on March 19, 2024 and ends on November 1, 2024. Then passengers can enjoy the benefits of the “Halunder Jet” again. Tickets can already be booked now for the coming season and the prices remain the same as for the 2024 season. With a capacity of up to 690 passengers and a top speed of 36 knots, the catamaran remains one of the fastest and most comfortable ways to reach Heligoland.
The shipping company FRS Helgoline is confident that the 2025 season will also be a complete success and is focusing on expanding the timetables to meet the needs of travelers. The catamaran docks directly in Helgoland's inland harbor, which guarantees short walking distances to the center and gives visitors easy access to the island's beauties.
