Werder Bremen's U19: Departure with talents - pressure to succeed is increasing!

Bremen, Deutschland - The U19 of SV Werder Bremen has started preparing for the new season with a test game, which unfortunately ended with a 2: 6 defeat against the U19 of SC Paderborn. Head coach Cedric Makiadi heads the newly compiled team, which has only been in the season preparation for a few days. The rejuvenation cure is necessary because many players who were successful last season are now moving to the U23. Nevertheless, the sporting director of the U19-U23, Thomas Wolter, expects an advanced development of the remaining talents, even if he is concerned about the transition to the professionals.

Wolter emphasizes that it is not automatically guaranteed that current U19 players will play in the Bundesliga. "We have to take the next step in development," he explains, referring to examples of successful talents such as Eren Dinkci and Nick Woltemade. The main goal remains: to bring the talent closer to the Bundesliga squad. Interestingly, some players like captain Wesley Adeh and playmaker Patrice Covic are currently training with the professionals, which offers a promising perspective.

talent development and challenges

Even if the U19 of SV Werder Bremen showed positive approaches last season, reality is hard for many talents in football. The team had to compete at the European Championship for the German U19 national team without their own players. Although this has reached the semi -finals, it shows that no players from Bremen were in the squad. Head coach Hanno Balitsch recognizes the potential of the young Werderans, but the age difference to the nominated 21 players is noticeable.

Most talents of the U19 are born in 2007 and will therefore only be a serious topic for the U19 team in the future. But defender Mick Schmetgens will take part in the summer preparation of the professionals of Werder Bremen. Peter Niemeyer, head of professional football, remains optimistic and received positive feedback from the U18 courses.

The role of the environment in talent development

A central topic in junior football is the development and promotion of players that depends on various factors. Dr. Rene Paasch describes that physical, physiological, psychological and social aspects significantly influence the sporting performance. In particular, social factors such as the relationship between trainer and player and parental support are crucial for success. It is clear that well -founded funding in the young area is essential to develop powerful professionals.

According to ARD research, it turns out that of over 5,700 former U19 players, only 3.5% make the leap into the professional league. The solid basis that the U19 is to create under the direction of Makiadi is all the more important. While the young people are developing at the soccer field, the environment - such as school and family - is also an important factor for their career. At the elite schools in Germany, an attempt is already made to coordinate this, but the pioneers are coaches that recognize and promote talent.

The coming months will be exciting, since the U19 of SV Werder Bremen continues to work on the basics of their individual development and have to prepare for the challenges of the new season. The young team has potential, and with a good hand, Werder Bremen may soon be able to integrate new talents into the professional squad.
