Summer spectacle: 100 new long-distance connections are waiting for travelers!

There is a lot of activity on the rails this summer, despite ongoing discussions about service cuts in long-distance transport. Deutsche Bahn is providing 100 additional long-distance connections to popular travel destinations in Germany and surrounding neighboring countries in its 2025 summer season. Among the new offers, international direct trains to Ancona (Italy), Bordeaux (France) and St. Anton (Austria) are a highlight. This delightful offer allows travelers to have new experiences and discover the diversity of Europe by train. [Zughalt] reports that the DB relies on modern train types such as ICE, TGV and Railjet.

Particularly noteworthy is the continuous connection from Munich to Ancona. The journey begins every day at 9:33 a.m. and ends in Ancona at 7:10 p.m. The return journey is also tough: departure at 11:30 a.m. and arrival in Munich at 8:26 p.m. - that's comfortable and time-saving. Another new offer is the train from Munich to Bologna, which sets off at 3:33 p.m. and reaches Bologna at 10:11 p.m. The return trip is at 9:52 a.m., giving travelers plenty of time to enjoy Italian culture.

Nice connections for every weekend

For travelers from Frankfurt there is a new TGV connection to Bordeaux, which runs on eight Saturdays between July 5th and August 30th. Departure is at 6:56 a.m. and arrival in Bordeaux is scheduled for 2:35 p.m. The return journey starts at 3:56 p.m. and takes passengers back to Frankfurt at 11:50 p.m. The Wiesbaden train station also goes to St. Anton am Arlberg on selected Saturdays until October 4th - it starts at 7:31 a.m. and arrives there at 4:00 p.m.

In addition, the DB has introduced new connections between Berlin and Chemnitz. On summer weekends, a train leaves Berlin at 8:42 a.m. and reaches Chemnitz after around two hours and ten minutes. For the return journey, travelers can expect a departure at 5:08 p.m. Additional ICE connections between Berlin and Rostock and between Dresden and the Baltic Sea coast are also planned to offer holidaymakers more convenient travel options.

A good deal for young travelers

To make it easier to enter the world of summer travel, Deutsche Bahn has put together attractive ticket offers. There is a super saver price for short journeys from 6.99 euros, ideal for spontaneous trips. For young travelers under 26, the 44-hour Young ticket is available, which allows unlimited travel on July weekends. Young people also benefit from the MyBahnCard 50 for just 49.99 euros. These offers can also be complemented by early booking discounts that help save up to 20%.

Traveling by train also offers an environmentally friendly alternative and the opportunity to get to know the world at a leisurely pace. As schöne-reisen.de notes, train travel is becoming increasingly popular. The charming landscapes and regular stops at fascinating sights take the travel experience to a new level. Be it a relaxing drive through the Alps or a connection to one of the many historic cities - the options are diverse and offer the right adventure for everyone.
