The anticipation for the 21st Darß Marathon is increasing - registration is now open! On December 7, 2025, it was officially announced that running enthusiasts can now register for this popular event in the picturesque Vorpommern-Rügen district. The marathon is planned for April 2026 and promises to offer a great mix of sport and nature.
The Darß Marathon is suitable for those who want to enjoy the beauty of the coastal forests and the heartwarming atmosphere of the Baltic Sea. In addition to the classic marathon, there is also a half marathon, a 10-kilometer run and a 5-km run, which are aimed at all age groups and ability levels. In addition, children and young people can take part in special runs and walking routes are also available. There is something for everyone and everyone is warmly invited to become part of this event.
Details about registration and competitions
Important to know: Starting places are limited and could be booked up quickly. Registration takes place online via the official Darß Marathon website at darss-marathon.de can be found. In order to increase the flexibility of the participants, there is also an exchange where runners can offer their starting places. A rebooking fee of EUR 5.00 must be paid on site, and late registrations are possible on the day of the event itself, April 25th and 26th. However, no guarantee can be given as to the availability of start numbers.
“The combination of nature, community and passion is what makes the Darß Marathon so special,” says chief organizer Yves Scharmberg. The route takes participants through beautiful landscapes, past fishing villages and along the beautiful Baltic Sea beaches.
