Greifswald celebrates 775 years: MV tag with music, fun and history!

Greifswald, Deutschland - in Greifswald is currently celebrating, and not too scarce! The MV day, which takes place from June 20 to 22, 2025, expresses the 775th anniversary of the city and the 35 years of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania express in a very special way. Under the motto "Tradition, Innovation and Diversity", the city center is divided into twelve experience areas that have plenty of entertainment for young and old. Visitors can look forward to a diverse stage program that includes all from live concerts to exciting technology demonstrations. The NDR Vorpommernstudio in the Knopfstrasse is a hotspot that starts its program from 11 a.m. There are not only guided tours and technology here, but also a photo for unforgettable souvenir photos. The popular figures by Ernie and Bert as well as some Kika characters will also be on site to delight the little visitors.

The live concerts start on Friday evening with the warm-up party at 7 p.m. and a concert by Marquess at 9 p.m. Traditionally, Saturday at 11 a.m. is opened with a concert by the state police orchestra MV. On Saturday evening, the MV-Tag party with NDR 1 and Joris' appearance provides a party mood. Another highlight will be the opening concert by the state police orchestra on Sunday, followed by the official opening by Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig and Greifswald Mayor Dr. Stefan Fassbinder at 12 p.m.

The other program items on Sunday include a rousing kika show with popular characters as well as presentations by the State Sports Association MV and an impressive choir and musical program of the Jahngymnasium Greifswald. For night owls there is the big MV day party with NDR 1 at 7.30 p.m. and the appearances of 4fun and Joris.

The celebrations not only offer musical highlights. In addition to an ecumenical service at 11 a.m. on Sunday, visitors can also enjoy tower and church tours. The barrier -free accessibility is guaranteed - with special parking spaces and a ramp on the main stage, as well as a bearded mallet. As can still be found, the NDR 1 Radio MV will send live on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to make the festival experienced for an even larger community.
