FSV Bentwisch triumphs 5-1 in the state cup – quarter-finals reached!
There was a real football treat on the artificial turf in Parchim on Friday evening: FSV Bentwisch shot their way into the quarter-finals of the state football cup with an impressive 5-1 win against SC Parchim. The spectators were treated to an exciting match that Bentwisch's players dominated throughout the entire season.
After the association league team was able to take a 1-0 lead at half-time, they increased their game even further after the break. Tim Hermann in particular contributed to the clear success with two goals (28th and 51st minute) - one of his goals was a remarkable shot from around 40 meters. But that's not all: Tim Pergande (66th minute, penalty), Mathis Hurtig (79th minute) and Stanislav Pasthukov (86th minute) also got on the scoresheet. The only bright spot for Parchim was the last goal of the game, scored by Hanno Weidenhöfer in the 89th minute. This means that FSV Bentwisch has made it to the quarter-finals again after two years, which underlines their performance and puts the fans in a celebratory mood.

A look at history
However, events in football can sometimes be emotionally compelling and thought-provoking. Like the fates of the 21 Coptic martyrs of Libya, whose story is considered part of a systematic pattern of persecution of Christians remembered by ISIS to this day. These men were murdered because of their faith, which shocked many people around the world and had a major impact on religious freedom awareness. They are celebrated on February 15 in various Christian denominations, and their names have been published by both the Coptic Orthodox Church and other faith communities, underscoring their veneration.
The coexistence of joy and suffering, of sportiness and the memory of painful events, makes it clear how complex the world is.
