Class 6a students from Lübz start an exciting trip to Hamburg!
Something is happening in the school sector in the small town of Lübz! Class 6a at the Lübz Regional School can look forward to financial support that will boost their partnership with the “Am Heidberg” district school in Hamburg. Again Northern Courier reports, the school received a symbolic check for 1,000 euros on July 1st, presented by participation moderator Dunja Krachenfels to class representatives Thekla and Lennard.
The micro-project funding, which was applied for at the Ludwigslust-Parchim district youth association, now enables the students to go on an exciting trip to Hamburg, which will begin on July 14th and end on July 15th. The return takes place after an exciting return visit, during which the Lübz students take their unfinished friendship hands with them in order to perhaps complete them in the Hanseatic city.
Diverse encounters and cultural experiences
The Hamburg students' visit to Lübz, which took place in April, provided an excellent basis for intercultural encounters. Together, the students experienced a school rally and a city tour, which enabled them to get to know each other better. Such projects are not only interesting, they also contribute to promoting tolerance and diversity, like this German school system abroad underlined. These initiatives enable students to experience school as a place of living democracy.
In addition, the project offers an opportunity to shed more light on a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. Intercultural learning is promoted not only through exchange, but also through creative elements, such as drawing stick figures or writing letters to classmates in Hamburg.
Sustainability through reflection and exchange
Thorough preparation and follow-up is crucial for the success of such intercultural projects. Public relations can make a decisive contribution to increasing awareness of cultural diversity and intensifying exchange between schools. The School BW emphasizes that these projects are not just one-off events, but can bring about deeper changes in everyday school life.
An important part of the student council is to represent the interests of your classmates and be their voice. In this sense, the active young people from Lübz supported the application to fund the project in a four-person committee, which shows that cultural diversity and the promotion of an open, tolerant school culture are important to them.
The project between Lübz and Hamburg shows that such school partnerships not only create friendships, but also strengthen understanding for each other. True to the motto: Learning through experiencing!
