Students at the Goethe-Gymnasium found a company and developed their talents
During an exciting project week, the students from the Goethe-Gymnasium in Ludwigslust impressively demonstrated how to learn and implement entrepreneurial skills. As part of the “Futurepreneur” program, 25 young people worked on starting their own student company. Not only were business plans drawn up, but products were also developed, manufactured and sold. The positive mood and commitment of the participants were clearly noticeable, as nordkurier.de reported.
The students presented their results on the last day of the project in a shopping center, setting up five different stands to offer their products. From colorful greeting cards with flower seeds to stylish candles and practical pot holders, there was something for every taste. “I really liked speaking to people,” said participant Pia from the “Hitzefrei” group. Her colleague Bao, who was one of the “Blooming Greetings”, was happy that her products were sold out immediately.
A project with vision
The “Futurepreneur” project has been committed to supporting young people in developing their personal and economic skills since 2017. The founder Kerstin Heuer attaches great importance to teamwork and self-realization, which is also clear in the way the project works. Patrick Perret, an executive coach, emphasizes the importance of developing potential in order to shape future business enterprises. This program is now active in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania for the first time, at the invitation of Hendrik Wegner from DeveLUP, who is already planning further project weeks in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district.
The concept of “FUTURE ENTREPRENEURSHIPS” as part of Futurepreneur offers students not only theoretical knowledge, but also the opportunity to discover their self-efficacy and become creative. This happens in an after-school location where they have two certified coaches at their side. Around 500 innovative business ideas in line with the UN Sustainability Goals (SDGs) are developed every year. “With a plan, fun and energy you can achieve a lot and at the same time make the world a better place,” is the motto that inspires the students.
Sustainability in focus
A central aspect of these student companies is the discussion about sustainability. The young people were committed to selecting recyclable materials for their products, which shows that they also want to take responsibility in the corporate world. According to bildungsportal-niedersachsen.de, students are given a high degree of personal responsibility, which allows them to make decisions independently and develop social skills alongside economic know-how.
Working with real companies in the area gives young entrepreneurs additional perspectives and insights into the professional world. A peer learning approach also strengthens students' social skills by allowing students from different backgrounds to learn from each other.
Overall, this project week in Ludwigslust shows that learning through practical experience is not only fun, but also teaches important life skills. It remains exciting to see how the ideas and projects of these creative minds will develop further.
