During the contemplative time around Christmas, not only the Christmas tree blooms, but also the willingness to help in the region. The regional energy supplier E.dis held a Christmas wish campaign, which once again proved to be a complete success. How Northern Courier reports, employees at three main locations in Fürstenwalde, Potsdam and Demmin were committed to fulfilling the wishes of children and young people from social institutions.

The initiative, which was launched by E.dis' internal cultural network, received active support from the Social Services Agency in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (TWSD). Children and young people from Altenhagen and Rossow diligently collected Christmas wishes, which were then handed over to E.dis. These wish lists adorned Christmas trees in the foyers, which also invited employees to take part in the campaign.

Gifts for the children

The gifts, which are worth 20 euros each, are colorful and diverse. From footballs to cozy blankets to vouchers for cinemas and online shops, there is something for every taste. All packages were lovingly packaged and then handed over to the supporting factory in Demmin. Here the gifts are distributed to the relevant institutions so that children in difficult family circumstances receive support during this special time.

The Rossow children's and youth center, which has existed for seven years, has up to nine places for 6 to 18 year olds in its facility. The dedicated team consists of four educators and a housekeeper and has made it its mission to support young people in difficult life situations.

Promoting resilience

In today's world, when young people are confronted with many challenges, promoting resilience is of great importance. A project in Halle (Saale), like it Thousands documented, is aimed precisely at this target group and supports mentally ill parents and their children. The aim is to strengthen inner resilience so that children and young people can better deal with emotional and social stress.

Resilience, the ability to deal with adversity and maintain a positive attitude, plays a key role in growing up healthy. It is particularly important to strengthen this ability in youth, where development and change dominate. How Growing from crises shows, there are numerous approaches to promoting resilience that can also be used in the Rossow youth center: from open communication to strengthening self-esteem to techniques for dealing with stress.

This festive season highlights the importance of community and support. E.dis' Christmas wish campaign is an excellent example of how individual contributions can have a major impact on the lives of young people. We therefore wish all those affected that the gifts bring plenty of joy and give them the strength to overcome the challenges of life.
