Doss, who was active for TSG from 1999 to 2006, brings a lot of experience with him. During his active time he also stood between the posts for other clubs such as 1. FC Neubrandenburg 04 and Pasewalker FV. With this return, Doss now has the task of revolutionizing the Neustrelitz goalkeeping game and making the keepers fit for future challenges. Pils for goalkeeper training
Sports director Oliver Bornemann is considering Doss' return in the spring in order to connect the experienced players from the region with TSG - a wise decision, one might think. Doss takes over from Bosko Lucic and will look after the two goalkeepers Miguel Da Silva Telinhos and Elias Höftmann, who are fighting for the coveted place between the posts. Both have already demonstrated their skills in test matches against BFC Dynamo and Hertha BSC II. Doss plans to hold at least two training sessions per week to further develop his charges' skills Strelitzius.
Head trainer Thomas Franke hopes that Doss will provide fresh impetus in training. The focus should be on improving goalkeepers, and modern goalkeeper training is the focus. Doss himself not only wants to promote the goalkeepers of the first team, but could also take care of the keepers from other TSG teams.
The path to modern goalkeeper training
There are many goalkeepers in Germany, but only a few clubs offer a structured training program. Almost 450,000 goalkeepers are active in amateur clubs, but only 55 have set up a youth performance center Soccer drills. TSG Neustrelitz could take on a pioneering role here with Doss as goalkeeping coach. Using modern training approaches based on zone training, Doss wants to optimally prepare the talents for their use in the penalty area.
Zone training is a well thought-out concept that has proven itself. It divides the penalty area into three zones and teaches the best practices for goal defense. Every training session will therefore focus not only on technical aspects, but also on tactical aspects - a necessity, because statistically almost 90% of all goals are scored in the penalty area Soccer drills.
Christian Doss has a busy schedule, but also remains loyal to the old men of the FCN. In his dual role as player and coach, a lot could happen for TSG Neustrelitz in the coming months - and the fans can look forward to that!
