Things will soon get busy again in Neubrandenburg, because the big dragon boat battle is just around the corner! On July 19, 2025, the Reitbahnsee will be transformed into a colorful competition arena when the water sports games of the Neubrandenburg Sports Club (SCN) celebrate their 18th edition. From 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., teams from all over the region compete against each other and bring a good dose of team spirit and competitive spirit with them.

So far, 19 teams have already registered, including companies, clubs, authorities and private groups. New features include a police team and a group of teachers who will stir up the competitive mood. A Diakonie inclusion boat also rounds off the field of participants. Interested groups still have the opportunity to register and become part of this exciting event until June 30th.

The competitions and challenges

The dragon boat races take place over two distances: a 200 meter short course, which is raced four times, and a challenging 1350 meter circuit. This once again shows how much training and teamwork goes into these competitions. The SCN also offers special training opportunities for newcomers, so that everyone has the chance to try out dragon boating.

The event is not only exciting because of the races, but also because of the “after-race party”, which is celebrated from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. On the occasion of the SCN's 18th anniversary, the band “These Guys” will perform live while DJ Bodo heats up the atmosphere. Admission to the evening event is free for anyone from the region who is interested - a great opportunity to end the day in style!
