Summer spectacle Cabaret: emotions and extravagance in the Schauspielhaus!

The Kit Kat Club is open again in the Neubrandenburg Schauspielhaus and heralds the second edition of the musical "Cabaret". The Theater und Orchester GmbH Neubrandenburg/Neustrelitz brings the summer spectacle to the stage again after the success in 2024. In this new edition, which runs until July 11th, the new conférencier Philipp Mauritz particularly stands out, who captivates the audience with its charming appearance and gripping communication. Josefin Ristau shines next to him as Sally Bowles and captivates all of her vocal performances and dancing performances.

The plot of the musical plays in the glamorous and at the same time chaotic atmosphere in Berlin in the 1920s when the American writer Clifford Bradshaw (Robert Will) comes into the country to collect material for his novel. On New Year's Eve, Clifford visits the legendary Kit Kat Club, where he meets the English nightclub singer Sally Bowles. A passionate, but also complicated relationship develops between the two, while the political tensions of the Weimar Republic are increasingly increasing. Clifford is horrified by the emerging fascism, but also has an impact on Sally, who would rather enjoy life to the fullest and without political analysis.

tension and emotions

The acting directorate of Maik Priebe brings a successful mix of emotions and surprises on stage. The conflict between personal happiness and social pressure is particularly presented. A moving moment culminates when Clifford calls: "Berlin is over. It was very funny, but it is over" before returning to the USA. During this time it also becomes clear how the figures of the musical-in particular the conférencier and the Kit-Kat-Girls-trickly try to adapt to the changing political framework.

The role of the good -hearted fruit seller Mr. Schultz, who spoils his landlady Miss Schneider with exotic fruits, is also discussed. In the face of ancient anti -Semitism, the love of the two is put to the test, while Miss Schneider has to make a weighty decision regarding her wedding with Mr. Schultz. This creates a tense mix of personal fates and social upheavals.

part of musical history

"Cabaret" is more than just an entertaining musical. It is part of the rich history of the musicals in Germany, which began especially during the Weimar Republic when American reviews and variety shows conquered the stage. The success of the genre has increased steadily since then and has established itself in cities such as Hamburg and Stuttgart. If you think of musicals, appearances like "Cats" are an important point of reference that the country made a musical capital, as ATG reports.

With a live band under the direction of Thomas Möckel, the quality of the musical is further underlined by catchy melodies and powerful performances. The spectators agree: the combination of singing, dance and acting makes "Cabaret" an unforgettable experience. If you are interested in this rousing performance, you should hurry to get cards, because the piece has quickly conquered a place in the heart of the audience.

The Neubrandenburg Schauspielhaus and Theater und Orchester GmbH have once again put together a fiery and unconventional summer spectacle that stimulates thinking and at the same time inspires - and that is not an easy task.
