Concerts for a good cause: Ratteyer Church needs support!
A lot will happen in the small community of Rattey in the coming weeks. The Friends of the Church of Reconciliation in Rattey e. V., which has only been active for a short time with 19 members and is growing, is planning two special concerts that will not only contribute to musical enrichment, but also to finance urgently needed renovation work. [Nordkurier] reports that the church, which is officially recognized as an “Open Church” in the North Church, is facing challenges: emergency repairs to the roof are necessary to prevent rainwater from entering, and an electrician is also expected to complete the work.
The concerts are scheduled for October 4th and 19th and are dedicated to the Thanksgiving season. The first concert on October 4th begins at 2 p.m. and invites visitors not only to enjoy musical sounds, but also to taste coffee, cake and grilled dishes in the “Alte Schmiede” afterwards. The evening's music will be provided by René Fischer, who will play his guitar by the fire in an atmospheric way. The final concert of the cultural summer will take place on October 19th with Willi Freibier. Admission is from 1 p.m. The pre-sales figures are promising and the club hopes to attract additional supporters and donations for the renovation work during the events.
Financial support for the church
It's not just local donations that are important. The maintenance of church buildings is often an expensive matter in Germany. According to information from financial-foerdermittel.de However, there are numerous funding programs that can help communities like Rattey cover maintenance and restoration costs. In order to benefit from this funding, municipalities must submit the required applications on time and provide evidence of the condition of the building and the planned measures.
The most important sources of funding include regional foundations, government funding for listed churches and support from church organizations. These programs often offer grants of up to 70% of the project cost. It is all the more important that the community of Rattey wins the support of the public and regional sponsors in order to keep the architectural heritage in their region alive.
“We are confident that the concerts will be a complete success and will attract many visitors,” explains a spokesman for the support association. The association is looking forward to great interest and calls on the population to actively participate in this important cultural and social project.
