Hansa Rostock: Record figures and supervisory board confirmed with a large majority!

FC Hansa Rostock was able to look back on a harmonious and successful balance at today's general meeting. With over 30,000 members and a pleasing increase of more than 2,500 compared to the previous year, the traditional club has consolidated its position as one of the top 20 clubs in Germany in terms of membership. These significant developments are also reflected in the financial area, where the balance sheet shows a positive net result of 13,000 euros for the 2024/25 season. This information is provided by Northern Courier confirmed.

During the meeting, the current supervisory board, chaired by Sebastian Eggert, was re-elected with a large majority. Despite the numerous candidates - 14 in total - Eggert not only faced confirmation, but also the responsibility to continue to lead the team in the right direction. Well-known personalities such as Prof. Dr. Mario Hensel and Anne Schäfer also belong to this committee. Particularly worth mentioning is the early contract extension of Amir Shapourzadeh as director of professional football and head coach Daniel Brinkmann, which underlines the trust in a positive sporting future.

Pleasing figures and record sales

Hansa Rostock was able to make significant progress in the area of finances last year. The total revenue of 38.7 million euros exceeds forecasts by more than 6 million euros. The most important sources of income include over 13,500 season tickets sold, which brought more than 9 million euros into the coffers, as well as merchandise technical successes with over 40,000 jerseys sold, which brought in more than 7 million euros. Even if the jersey sponsor 28Black dropped out, the sponsorship was able to maintain its stability with over 10 million euros. This positive development is due not least to the average attendance of almost 24,500 per game, which is almost 2,000 above the planned figure.

For the current season, the club is planning total revenues of around 36.2 million euros and an increase of 760,000 euros. These pleasing figures indicate that the club's management is pursuing a solid strategy to improve the economic scope even in the third division and to actively involve the members in the club.

Criticism and challenges

But not everything goes smoothly. Ex-player Heiko März's candidacy for the supervisory board caused mixed reactions among the members. While he emphasizes his sports and marketing experience, there are voices that see him as a potential source of trouble. Although März was active for Hansa between 1983 and 1998 and played 344 competitive games, there is criticism of him, including from Kai-Uwe Theede, the President of the Rostock Higher Regional Court. They accuse him of being an unsuitable role model for the club's leadership, not least because of his current living situation in Dubai.

The members gathered today not only to discuss the future, but also to continue the exchange on important issues of club policy. In summary, it shows that FC Hansa Rostock is on the right track, both financially and in terms of its membership development, despite challenges such as relegation to the third division in 2024. This means the club remains an important part of the northern German football landscape. A close connection to the fans and a clear strategy seem to be the main ingredients on the way to continued positive developments.
