Cat abandoned in corn field: Animal welfare alerted!
On Reformation Day, walkers near Goldberg became aware of a sad spectacle: several young cats were discovered at the edge of a corn field. Unfortunately, there has already been a tragic incident in which a cat was found lifeless in a ditch. Antonia Wengert from Stray Help Plau am See said that a kitten was secured that same evening, followed by another on Saturday morning. A total of four kittens were brought to safety over the course of the weekend, with two more being captured on Sunday.
In summary, around 15 kittens were discovered in the area, coming from different litters and aged between seven and 14 weeks. These animals are severely malnourished, starving and have to contend with many parasites. In this context, animal rights activists point out that abandoning cats is extremely irresponsible. The search for more kittens is ongoing because animal rights activists fear that more animals could be hidden in the corn field that will soon be mowed down.
Looking for advice and support
In order to be able to help the other animals, foster homes and food donations are urgently sought. The animal protection community calls on people to get involved and not to leave the affected animals alone. Any support, be it financial or logistical, can make a difference.
In a completely different world, but just as remarkable, is the fate of Carol C. Steadman, who recently passed away peacefully at the age of 87. Her life was characterized by tireless commitment to the community and numerous political activities. She grew up in Brooklyn, New York and excelled not only as a stewardess but also as a volunteer helping women re-enter the workforce. Her funeral service will be held on May 21st in San Angelo, Texas and she leaves behind a large family with many memories of her drive and joy of life.
On a completely different note, pop culture remains just as vibrant, with names like Katy Perry taking over the world's stages. The famous singer, who only pushed the limits of possibility with a space flight in April 2025, recently released her album “143”. The artist has also joined UNICEF and advocates for diverse social causes while continuing to advance her career. Her fundraisers and appearances speak to her commitment to the community.
Whether in animal protection, politics or music – there are many ways to make our world a better place. Everyone can contribute, whether by helping on their own doorstep or by getting involved in larger causes. We can only hope that the little kittens in the cornfield find a happy ending and that we continue to hear stories of people committed to the well-being of others.
