A very special year is beginning in Pasewalk: the city will celebrate its proud 775th anniversary in 2026. At a time when tradition and community are valued more than ever, Pasewalk invites all citizens to become part of the celebrations. Numerous events are planned from January to December that reflect the diversity and cohesion of the city's society. The festival begins at the peak of the year with a big festival weekend from September 4th to 6th, which is complemented by a colorful parade that will run for about four kilometers. [Nordkurier].
A creative team of five working groups takes care of the details: from planning the parade to special cultural events in the city center. Over 200,000 euros are needed to set up the festive activities, with 90,000 euros already planned in the 2025 budget and 110,000 euros needing to be raised as funding. The anticipation is palpable, and numerous clubs and companies are showing willingness to actively participate.
Diverse events for everyone
The anniversary year in Pasewalk will be full of highlights. In addition to the already mentioned festival weekend, events such as the Cuirassier Ball on April 18th, the museum festival on May 17th, and the celebration of the 130th anniversary of the engine shed on July 18th will bring the city to life. On October 3rd, the 30th anniversary of the partnership with the 411 Panzergrenadier Battalion in Viereck will also be celebrated. History and identity
