Traffic chaos in Schwerin: Construction work and festival start traffic jams!
Schwerin, Deutschland - In the coming days, traffic in Schwerin will be put to the test, because several construction sites and a large event are pending. Road users have to adapt to restrictions, such as nordkurier.de reports.
The focus is particularly on the Stadtwerke beach festival, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday. In order to commit this occasion, there are extensive full closures on Bosselmannstrasse and the old village street. On Saturday these are affected from 10 a.m. to midnight and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, drivers can park in the right lane of the Crivitzer Chaussee between Plater Strasse and on the Green Valley, which will be possible from 9 a.m. on Saturday until 6 p.m.
renovation of the sidewalks
From Monday, July 14th, there will be further construction work on the agenda: the renovation of the sidewalk on the obotrite ring begins. In the intersection area Obotritenring/Wittenburger Straße, the lane leading into the city is reduced to about 30 meters, which inevitably leads to traffic disruptions. These measures are expected to continue until August 22nd, as Schwerin.de.
Furthermore, repair work on the southern sidewalk between house numbers 108 and 132 and from the place of freedom to the obotrit ring will be carried out on Lübecker Straße from the same day. Here too, detours and restrictions for pedestrians can be expected to be redirected to the opposite side of the street.
repair work on the Ludwigsluster Chaussee
In addition, from 16 to 18 July repair work in the Ludwigsluster Chaussee is also planned. The walking and bike path between the Straße Krösnitz and the Ostorfer Ufer street is completely blocked during this time. A detour via the “Auf der Dwang” road is set up to minimize the impairments.
The SDS own company appeals to road users to take the restrictions into account when planning their paths and to raise some patience. Similar to other cities, such as Münster, road users are advised to take regular exams of current blocks and detours to avoid waiting times and detours, including [msaktuell.de] (https://ms-aktuell.de/beauten-und-strass closing-in-muenster/).
Overall, the ongoing construction work in Schwerin is a necessary evil for the long -term improvement of the infrastructure. It remains to be hoped that road users can handle the challenges well and that we can soon benefit from improved paths.
