Stralsund in beach volleyball fever: State championship attracts top teams!

In the picturesque lido in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund, on the weekends of the 12th and 13th. and 19/20. Exciting times ahead in July. The 1. VC Stralsund invites you to two exciting beach volleyball tournaments that not only attract local sports enthusiasts, but also athletes from far away. The games start at 9 a.m. and it promises to be a captivating event that will make the spectators' hearts beat faster. It is particularly worth mentioning that the A+ category tournament is considered the most outstanding in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Thanks to the excellent organization of Erik Stolte, the beach volleyball department head, the players and fans can look forward to a strong field of participants. For the first time, a grandstand will be set up in the lido to give spectators the best view of the exciting matches on the center courts. This makes the atmosphere even livelier and the support for the athletes less.

The field of participants

The women's and men's teams competing in the tournament are a dazzling mix of talent and experienced professionals. The women's teams include Swantje Basan and Anne Krohn from the Stralsund Wildcats. The team of Nina Interwies from Kiel and Nele Schmidt from Düsseldorf is in strong competition. The former German indoor champions Elisa Lohmann and Kathleen Weiß are also there, which makes the competitions all the more exciting.

On the men's side, defending champions Daniel Sprenger and Eric Nikolaus will do their best to defend their title. But Toni Schneider from Binz and Alexander Amon from Greifswald won't give up without a fight either. It's a real challenge that awaits all teams and the competitive spirit will be high.

The beach volleyball offer in Stralsund

The beach volleyball department of 1. VC Stralsund was founded in 2022 and has since launched numerous initiatives to promote the sport in the region. In addition to the big tournaments, the club offers smaller events during the week that start at 6 p.m. and last around two to three hours - ideal for anyone who wants to get active after work. The participation fee is just 2 euros per player aged 18 and over, which also makes the sport attractive for newcomers.

In addition to the tournaments, there are special formats such as the “Beach Robber Locals”, which are open to everyone and in which prizes are raffled off. For the younger players there is the “Intero Family Cup”, a day tournament for children and their families. The “MV tournaments” and the “DVV tournaments” are also highlights in the calendar, bringing together the best volleyball players from all over Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Spectators are warmly invited to watch the games on site.
