Next Saturday there will be a hot duel in the Diesterweg sports hall: The Stralsund Wildcats open their doors for the second division game against Eintracht Spontent from Düsseldorf. This is not only an important competition in the 2. Volleyball Bundesliga Pro, but also a decisive step towards the DVV Cup.
Boss Steffen Täubrich emphasizes the importance of the game and the unbroken motivation of his team. “We have the chance to qualify for the main round of the DVV Cup!” said Täubrich, and that certainly has the players excited to their fingertips.
Cup dreams on Sunday
The next challenge awaits on Sunday at 2 p.m.: The Wildcats will meet the Berlin third division team TSV Rudow in the DVV Cup. A win here would mean a place in the round of 16. The Stralsund Wildcats are currently playing in the 2024/25 season 2. Volleyball Bundesliga Pro, which began on September 21st and runs until April 27th, 2025. This league is primarily about promotion, and the Wildcats are now highly motivated to show their strengths after withdrawing from the 1st Bundesliga.
The league includes a total of 14 teams, including well-known names such as Skurios Volleys Borken, Rote Raben Vilsbiburg and ETV Hamburg. The Wildcats also want to put the latter in their place in the cup if it comes to that. This matchup could be exciting and provide some sensational volleyball.
