Autumn has arrived in Western Pomerania, and that means shorter days and falling temperatures. But the region has a lot to offer to enjoy the autumn evenings. There are numerous events on the program over the next few days that are exciting for both locals and visitors. The focus is particularly on this Baltic Sea newspaper, which has compiled the best events for the weekend.
A highlight is thisAmber season on Usedom, which will take place from November 7th to 9th between 6:15 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. on the beaches of Kölpinsee, Peenemünde and Karlshagen. Here you can immerse yourself in the world of amber for just 15 euros (10 euros for children up to 16 years old). Tickets are available online.
If that doesn't provide enough excitement for you, you shouldn't miss the world record attempt by fish sommelier André Domke on November 8th in Heringsdorf. He plans to create the largest canned fish in the world - an impressive piece measuring 1 meter wide, 2 meters long and 60cm high.
Diverse entertainment options
Manga fans in the region will have the opportunity on November 8thManga maniaGet to know the latest trends in Greifswald. There are free workshops, drawing and cosplay classes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., as well as a film screening at 4:30 p.m. - and entry is free!

On November 8th, a dance ball will also be held by the DRK local association in Wolgast - for 35 euros, guests can enjoy an enchanting evening with music and a buffet. If you like it quieter, you shouldn't miss the reading by author Martina Weiß at the Schöne hand weaving mill in Pulow. On the same day at 5 p.m. she will talk about her book “You Don’t Have to Understand Life.”
With theSt. Martin's Day, which will be celebrated on November 11th, there will be a lantern making workshop on November 8th at 1 p.m. in the Hartmann Paper House in Greifswald. Creative handicrafts are offered here for 30 euros; registration is required. A lantern parade will take place on Usedom on November 9th, starting with singing at 4 p.m.
