Lisa Eckhart goes on a big tour: cabaret highlights in Saxony!
The Austrian cabaret artist Lisa Eckhart, known for her sharp satire and her talent for exploring the boundaries of humor, is going on a big tour. From September 2025 she will present two programs: “Empress Stasi the First” and “I used to be someone”. These programs not only promise to make you smile, but also provide deeper insights into your artistic development. News.de reports that the first performances of the tour will take place in Halle (Saale) and Leipzig.
The premiere of “Empress Stasi the First” is scheduled for September 10, 2025. This will be followed by further performances in Leipzig, Magdeburg and Aurich. The entire period for this show extends until December 11, 2025. Ticket prices are between 40 and 42 euros, making the events an absolute “must” for cabaret lovers.
A new chapter: The debut novel “Grandma”
If that wasn't enough, Lisa Eckhart's debut novel "Omama" will be published by Zsolnay Verlag on August 17, 2025. The plot spans several years, starting in 1945, when the young main character Helga and her sister try to win the favor of the occupiers. As the story progresses, various aspects of life at that time are discussed - from marriage plans to disgusting activities in eastern Germany. According to her website, the book is intelligent, evil and, not least, funny: “A building block in her career that should please her fans,” notes lisackhart.com.
After this tour and a total of four programs, Eckhart plans to end her cabaret career and devote herself exclusively to writing, even though she is toying with the idea of not earning much financially from books. She appeals to her family to ask for big gifts because she only wants to be a writer in the not-too-distant future.
A controversial figure
The career of the cabaret artist, born in 1990, is anything but undisputed. Her appearances, especially in the WDR program “Mitternachtsspitzen”, were sometimes heavily criticized because she was accused of using anti-Semitic clichés. Eckhart himself often sees himself as being misunderstood. However, their critical voices have also led to a great reputation in certain circles; Cabaret.de highlights her linguistic excellence and the merciless punctuation of her satire.
In the current debate, Eckhart also plays a role as Tim-Ishak: first disinvited from the Harbor Front Literature Festival in Hamburg, then invited back, but ultimately refusing to take part. Despite the controversy, she remains a distinctive voice in the Austrian cabaret scene and beyond.
In conclusion, one can say that Lisa Eckhart is going on the offensive twice with her tour and the new novel. Cabaret fans and literature enthusiasts alike can look forward to an exciting year 2025!
