Complete closure of the roundabout in Strackholt: diversion plan from July 7th!

An important construction start is about to begin in Strackholt: From Monday, July 7th, the roundabout on the B 436 will be completely closed for renovation work. These measures are part of a comprehensive road renovation that began in the spring and is now reaching its final stage. The work should be completed by the end of July, as reported by the Lower Saxony State Authority for Road Construction and Transport.

The full closure is necessary to comply with safety-relevant occupational health and safety regulations. A large-scale diversion will be set up and is already signposted. For road users coming from the direction of Bagband, the diversion leads via MitteGroßefehn (B 72/Auricher Landstraße), Großefehn (K 105/Kanalstraße) and Wiesmoor (L 12/Wittmunder Straße) back to Strackholt and vice versa. During this time, we ask for your patience and understanding so that the necessary work can be carried out without delays. Information about the construction project can be found on the project website bundesstrasse436.de.

Background to the renovation

The extensive renovation between Bagband and Strackholt is an important project to improve the transport infrastructure in the region. The roundabout on the B 436 is one of the busy roads and is a crucial junction for residents and through traffic. The measures in Strackholt are therefore not only important for the immediate area, but also improve the traffic situation in the entire Aurich district.

In addition, the implementation and planning of such projects also receive additional records in connection with other road construction projects that are managed by the Hanover Region. This shows that the updating and repair of roads and bridges is also repeatedly prioritized in other parts of Lower Saxony in order to ensure safe mobility for all road users. In this sense, the focus is on regional construction projects in order to increase the quality of life of citizens by securing and optimizing transport.

One thing is clear: the upcoming renovation work in Strackholt offers the opportunity to sustainably improve traffic conditions. With a well-organized diversion and a consistent construction process, according to the state authority, the roundabout is expected to be open to traffic again by the end of July. The authority provides further information on this on its website.
