Braunschweig’s rave event Deep del Sol” returns with new splendor!
The popular rave festival “Deep del Sol” returns after some challenges and brings a breath of fresh air to Braunschweig’s Bürgerpark. This open-air festival, which will take place on August 2, 2025 from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., represents a comeback after the previously announced cancellation. The main organizer Peter Groß initially announced the end of the festival, which has been celebrated since 2013, the reasons for this included a lack of support from the city and the failure to found an association. But now the event shines under the motto “Return to the Beginnings”, because the Lünischteich, where it all began, becomes a nostalgic reference point.
However, in the early years - in 2013 the festival attracted a modest 50 visitors - the event has developed significantly. In 2017 the relocation to the track triangle in the kennel took place; By 2024, around 1,000 music lovers could already be counted. Now the Ravefreunde Braunschweig have taken over the organization and promise a great event with a varied line-up that includes DJs like Rene' Schneider, Daniel B., Patrick O. Neal and Soul Pistol. What's particularly pleasing is that entry remains free and food is provided by the JimFood cart.
Sustainability and community
A central concern of the organizers is to keep the environmental impact as low as possible. We expressly ask you not to bring your own drinks and to ensure that the park is left clean - an important sign of appreciation for nature. This effort fits perfectly into the general developments in the festival landscape. Music festivals are not only meeting places for the regional community, they also promote social interactions, cultural diversity and provide a space for discourse. This is explained by a comprehensive study that will shed light on the challenges and cultural relevance of such events in Germany in 2024. Over 1,800 festivals are considered as a population in order to get an accurate picture of the situation.
The results of this study will be published in summer 2025 and will provide a deep insight into the economic, organizational and social aspects of music festivals in Germany. She also shows how these events contribute to identity formation and support for newcomers, while at the same time giving an economic boost to their region.
A new start
The “Deep del Sol Open Air Festival” not only creates an attractive event for the people of Braunschweig, but also lays the foundation for a possible continuation of this tradition. Organizers are confident the event will be well received, which could lay the foundation for future festivals. The idea of holding the festival in Bürgerpark recalls the roots of this unique event and shows how important it is to keep local culture alive.
If you're looking for good music and a great atmosphere on August 2nd, you shouldn't miss the “Deep del Sol Open Air Fest”. All information about the event can be found on the Deep del Sol Open Air Facebook page. Maybe this will be a new era for the Braunschweig festival history!
