Eintracht Braunschweig: Training camp in Austria with new talents!

Eintracht Braunschweig is in the middle of a training camp in Austria, where the team under coach Heiner Backhaus is preparing intensively for the upcoming season in the 2nd Bundesliga. The aim is not to have to worry about relegation, which increases the pressure on the players and increases the anticipation of the new challenges. After a vacation period for the players, preparation began on June 20, 2025, crowned by good performances in test matches, including an impressive 13-0 against MTV Hondelage and an equally clear 12-0 against VfL Oker.

The new additions provide additional excitement. So far, Eintracht Braunschweig has signed three players: Lukas Frenkert from Preußen Münster, Frederik Jäkel from RB Leipzig (on loan) and Mehmet Aydin from FC Schalke 04. Ron-Thorben Hoffmann and Lino Tempelmann were also re-signed after their previous loans. Managing director Benjamin Kessel is optimistic that further reinforcements will follow in the near future. Eintracht is looking for qualified personnel in particular in several positions, including a second goalkeeper as a backup for Hoffmann as well as reinforcements in central midfield and attack.

Looking for reinforcements

With a view to squad planning, two test players are particularly in focus: Lennard Becker and David Richter. Becker, only 19 years old and previously active at FC Bayern Munich II, brings a breath of fresh air to the team. He has already gained experience in the regional league and even took part in the U19 Youth League. David Richter, an experienced goalkeeper, joined the team the day after Becker and brings with him valuable experience gained at clubs such as SV Sandhausen and 1860 Munich.

Eintracht Braunschweig is actively building up the squad and plans to sign more players. At least four new additions are expected to strengthen the positions. Perhaps Louis Breunig, a left-footed player with promising potential, could soon become part of the team, although his contract with SSV Jahn Regensburg could make a signing expensive.

Preparation for the tests

The training camp runs until July 12, followed by friendlies against Istanbul Başakşehir and Plymouth Argyle. After the training camp, the game continues on July 19th in the stadium on Lake Salzgitter against Bundesliga relegated Holstein Kiel. The official season opening will take place on July 26th with two friendly games against FC Twente Enschede. The first matchday of the 2025/26 second division season is on August 3rd, when the team will play away at 1. FC Magdeburg.

The signs point to change and ambition at Eintracht Braunschweig, who want to start the new season with a breath of fresh air and a hungry team. The current phase of the training camp seems to be the perfect start to set the course for a successful season. For further information, see news38.de, liga-zwei.de and t-online.de.
